Strictly fans left saying same thing as they spot Dianne Buswell's parents sobbing in audience

Dianne Buswell and Chris McCausland tackled the Paso Doble during this evening's instalment of Strictly Come Dancing. Following the tricky routine, Dianne, 35, and Chris, 47, appeared thrilled they had pulled it off - and it left her parents, Mark and Rina, in floods of tears as they watched the fan favourites as part of the live audience.

As Dianne and comedian Chris shared an embrace after their routine, the BBC cameras panned to the Australian dancer's parents, who were both seen wiping their eyes and crying. As the pair waited to be critiqued by the judges, Tess Daly said: "Oh, Mark is crying. Don't make me cry, Mark."

Fans flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on the emotional moment with one writing: "MARK AND RINA HAVE ME SOBBING I'M SO HAPPY CHRIS & DIANNE ARE STILL IN SO WE COULD GET THIS MOMENT." A third noted: "Not Dianne's dad crying, I'm sobbing #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."

Another added: "I'll be a Chris McCausland stan until the end of time, and the way Dianne Buswell teaches him each week, and he just somehow gets it will forever blow my mind. He did a good job in his Paso Doble and sold it to me."

A fifth penned: "Chris absolutely slayed such a tricky dance ... And Dianne's parents!!! #strictly." Another added: "Shirley (I'm not her biggest fan btw) saying she'll get Dianne her own little glitterball - oh, bless her. Dianne is a teaching goddess #strictly."

The duo received a score of 33 from the judging panel, which gave them their highest-ever Latin dance score. Head judge Shirley Ballas was the most generous on the panel and awarded them a nine.

Ahead of their routine, Tess interviewed Mark and Rina, who, following their flight across the globe, gave them "the warmest welcome" to the UK.

The pair had waited seven years to see Dianne dance live on Strictly Come Dancing, and Mark was able to introduce the routine.

Reading from a teleprompter, he said, "Dancing the Paso Doble is Chris and our Dot, Dianne." The audience gave him rapturous applause.

One emotional fan wrote: "Not Dianne's dad announcing Chris and Di, I'm sobbing."

Dianne shared her excitement about being reunited with her parents on social media. After posting a snap alongside them in her kitchen with her partner Joe Sugg, she was met with hundreds of warm comments.

On last weekend's show, Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman said of Dianne's parents: "I know it means so much. They love you and Chris, this is what you wanted, you wanted to dance in front of your mum and dad. And Chris, you want this amazing woman to feel proud, out there in front of her family."
