Strictly’s Ellie Leach 'takes swipe' at Bobby Brazier in cryptic comment as she reunites with rumoured fling Vito Coppola
Strictly Come Dancing’s 2023 champion Ellie Leach has appeared to take a veiled swipe at her rumoured former flame Bobby Brazier in a brand new post on social media. The 22 year old Coronation Street actress who famously won the BBC dance show last year, was thought to have grew close to fellow contestant Bobby during the Strictly tour with the pair briefly dating.
The pair were thought to have enjoyed a string of low-key dates together, with the duo spotted staying at each others homes while carrying an overnight bag. This was all while rumours were swirling that Ellie had been romantically involved with her professional dance partner Vito Coppola, something she strenuously denied.
Ellie and Bobby reportedly split last month, and now it appears she is once again leaning on pal Vito’s shoulder for comfort, with the star even sharing a veiled dig at Bobby in her most recent social media post.
Sharing a smiling selfie alongside Vito, Ellie hinted that she was only looking to be around people that were “good for her” in the wake of the split, as she captioned the photo: "Spending time with people who are good for your soul."
The actress then added: "Love you @vitocoppola.”
Throughout the course of Strictly Come Dancing’s latest series, fans at home were convinced that Ellie and Vito were dating, given their close bond and tactile interactions on stage. Their chemistry was further amplified by a number of sultry dances on the show, including one moment where fans were convinced the duo were about to kiss at the end of a performance live on air.
Yet despite the opinion of fans, both Ellie and Vito have always insisted there is nothing romantic about their relationship, with the pair simply having built up a strong friendship due to their hours of rigorous training.
This friendship, it appears, has also continued long after their Strictly partnership ended too, given Vito’s new appearance in the photo - and it hasn’t stopped fans from asking if they’re a couple yet.
“Are you a couple now? You look so good together?,” quizzed one fan on social media. A second then added: ”I’ll say it again you two look good together. I hope this friendship blossoms."
The post comes after Ellie recently broke down in tears on ITV’s Drama Queens as she opened up about her past heartbreak when a former boyfriend cheated on her.
The series follows the lives of several soap stars, including Ellie, Lucy Fallon and Rita Simons. During a catch-up with her mum in Liverpool, Ellie revealed her ex had sold a story about their relationship to a newspaper.
Reading an email from her agent, Ellie said: "Hi, hope you are well, just wanted to know that Ellie Leach's ex has chatted to us. He's really nice about her, he also admits to cheating on her."
Visibly upset, Ellie told her mum: "It was just a shock, I was like what. It's weird because it, erm."
Ellie then began to cry, prompting her mum to comfort her. Ellie continued: "That article in particular kind of felt like all your dirty laundry is just like available for everyone to see. It's no reflection of who you are but it still feels embarrassing. It still feels like you've done something wrong when you haven't."
