Strictly Come Dancing's Katya Jones admits to Claudia Winkleman she wants to move to Wales after 'falling in love'
Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Katya Jones has admitted she wants to move to Wales. The star is paired up with opera singer Wynne Evans on this year's show. This week, the pair performed the rumba to the sound of Shirley Bassey's 'This Is My Life'.
And in the build up to their performance, Wynne, 52, had showed his dance partner around the Principality Stadium in Cardiff "to give her a flavour of what it is to be Welsh", and shared what the song meant to him. You can read more about that by clicking here.
And it is clear that Katya's visits across the bridge have left a lasting impression on her. Strictly presenter Claudia Winkleman said to the dancer on Sunday's show: "Can we talk about the fact that you have fallen in love with and want to move to Wales?" Katya responded: "Absolutely! This really beautiful word that I learnt.. hiraeth which is spiritual longing for your country and we can really feel it everywhere we go. Yep, moving there! Is that ok?" Wynne simply added: "Perfect."
Wynne, sitting next to professional dancer Vito Coppola on the sofa, also joked: "Just for the avoidance of any doubt because we are both dressed in black. This is Vito and I am Wynne. I didn't know if we should sit next to each other, because... obviously, twins!
He told Claudia: I refuse to call it a competition because for me it is the ultimate entertainment show. I love the fact that last week they said I was an entertainer. That's what I want to be and that's what the show means to me."
The pair are through to the next week of the BBC show, with Sam Quek being the latest celebrity to be booted off.
