Welsh Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden unfortunately had to step back from the 2024 series of the show after being paired with JLS band member JB Gill, when she badly injured her foot. She has now told fans, "I'd be lying if I said I'm ok" as she continues her recovery.

Amy also had to miss the 2023 series of Strictly when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and was excited to return to the series in 2024. Sadly, due to the foot injury she sustained while on the show, Amy will not be able to continue and JB will now continue to dance with professional Lauren Oakley instead.

Posting to her Instagram stories, Amy shared videos of herself in physio at the gym. She also re-shared a video from one year ago when she rang the bell to signal that her last round of chemotherapy was complete. For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.

She added: "I'd be lying if I said I'm ok, but I know I will be and I'm lucky to have so many loved ones around me! 2025 sounds like an even better year ay" followed by different emojis. Recently Amy said she "had a little cry" with fellow Welsh star Wynne Evans, over her Strictly Come Dancing journey being cut short.

Amy said Wynne, who is partnered with Katya Jones on Strictly Come Dancing, supported her. She said: "Me and Wynne, I think there is that special Welsh connection... I saw him actually at It Takes Two (Strictly's weekly sister show) on Wednesday, and he just came up to me, and I gave him a massive hug, he just said 'it's rubbish' and he knew not to say anymore but he gave me that big Welsh cwtch and I had a little cry with him."
