Strictly Come Dancing star Kai Widdrington looked unrecognisable as a rehearsed for a movie-themed performance ahead of Saturday's live show. The professional dancer transformed into character Gru from the hit Minions films, with fans left stunned by how different he looked. Kai's fellow professional dancers got into character as his Minions, each sporting bright yellow body paint and fun outfits.

Kai, 29, sported an all-black outfit with pointy patent boots and Gru's signature black and grey striped scarf. The TV star wore a bald cap over his hair and a prosthetic nose, making him look worlds away from his usual self.

"Baddie with a long grey scarf," he joked in a TikTok video featuring the Strictly professionals. Over on Instagram, fans were in stitches at his costume with many taking to the comments to laugh.

Tasha Ghouri, who is competing on this year's Strictly, left a row of laughing faces under Kai's post, while somebody else said: "You look great as a villain." Another joked: "Absolute highlight of your whole Strictly career," and someone else added: "Wow that's a different look Kai. Looking forward to Saturday's show."

The professional dancers' Despicable Me-themed performance will be shown during Saturday's (5 October) live show on BBC One. This year's series is now into its third week, with Olympian Tom Dean having become the first celebrity to have been kicked off the show.

However, one celebrity has been forced to pull out of the third live show due to two different injuries. DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles announced on Friday he won't be taking part in Movie Week due to an injury sustained during rehearsals.

A statement released by Strictly said Nick and his partner Luba Mushtuk won't be appearing, but will be able to perform during next week's show. The message read: "Unfortunately, Nick Knowles sustained an injury during rehearsals and as a result, will not dance this weekend. As per the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will receive a bye through to next week when he is hopefully able to dance again. Everyone at Strictly Come Dancing wishes Nick a speedy recovery."

Nick added: "I'm absolutely gutted and feeling very very sad." Nick's previous injury to his arm and shoulder happened after his car broke down during the weekend of the first live show and he had to quickly change a tyre by the roadside because his young son was in the car and he wanted to make sure his family was safe.
