BBC bosses are reportedly lining up rugby star Danny Cipriani for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The rugby player already dazzled on the dancefloor last year for a special episode, but is said to be meeting with the BBC for talks about the upcoming series.

The retired player is due to fly in from the US — where he is now based — to discuss the project. A source told The Sun: “Danny proved he had the moves in the one-off special and Strictly would love to have him back.

“It was an experience he enjoyed and Danny’s family and friends have been pushing him to say yes.

“Danny’s got Bear Hunt on Netflix out next year so he’s free and able to take part. He’s coming back to the UK for a face-to-face meeting.”

OK! has gone to reps for Danny and the BBC for comment.

Danny danced with Jowita Przystal in the 2023 Christmas Special. The pair danced the Cha-Cha to Kool & The Gang’s ‘Celebration’ and scored a 37 out of 40.

At the time Danny said: “I enjoy the way that I move to the beat of the music. It makes me feel good.”

Sadly Danny was beaten to the Glitterball by EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick (who plays Jay Brown).

Danny has played rugby for clubs including Wasps and Sale Sharks and has been living in the States with his girlfriend, 90210 actress AnnaLynne McCord, 36, since his split from wife Victoria Rose in November last year.
