Strictly Come Dancing final start and finish timings as series champion announced

Hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing is drawing to a close after 13 weeks of dazzling performances. The competition has been whittled down to the final four following the departure of Pete Wicks and Jowita Przysta in the semi-finals.

The remaining couples are Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec, JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, and Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell.

On Saturday night (December 14), these finalists will take to the dance floor with three routines each, hoping to win over the BBC audience. Although judges Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, and Shirley Ballas will continue to score the dances, their scores serve as guidance onlythe ultimate decision rests with the viewers.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will return to the ballroom to guide us through the grand finale, culminating in one couple being awarded the coveted Glitterball Trophy.

When does Strictly Come Dancing final start and finish?

The last episode of the 2024 series will kick off on Saturday, December 14.

Unlike most weekends, there is no results show on Sunday, December 15, with the winner being announced after the public vote on Saturday night.

The final will be available to watch from 6pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer and will run for two hours and 35 minutes.

The series will end at 8.35pm when this year's winner has lifted the Glitterball Trophy and will be followed by Michael McIntyre's 25th Year Stand-Up Special.

Who is in the Strictly Come Dancing final?

The final showdown will feature the last four standing: JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec, and Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola.

Each pair will perform three dancesa Show Dance, a Judges' Pick, and a Personal Pickin their bid for the prestigious trophy.

The song choices and routines have already been revealed ahead of the final. JB and Lauren will be dancing to a medley of iconic Motown hits, while Chris and Dianne will perform to New Radicals' 'You Get What You Give'.

Tasha and Aljaz are set to dance to 'Sing, Sing, Sing' by Benny Goodman, while Sarah and Vito will showcase their Show Dance to 'Cabaret' by Metropole Orkest.

In other performances, JB and Lauren will revisit their Musicals Week number, dancing the Viennese Waltz to 'Let's Go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins, and the Samba to Sergio Mendes' 'Mas Que Nada'.

Chris and Dianne will reprise their Couple's Choice from Week 8, danced to 'Instant Karma (We All Shine On) by John Lennon. Their final dance will be the Waltz to 'You Will Never Walk Alone' by Gerry and the Pacemakers.

Tasha and Aljaz will also perform their Couple's Choice routine to 'What About Us' by P!nk, and an American Smooth to 'Someone You Loved' by Lewis Capaldi.

Sarah and Vito will bring back their American Smooth to 'Proud' by Heather Small, with their last dance being the Cha Cha to Madonna's 'Like a Prayer'.
