Strictly Come Dancing’s Carlos 'snubs' Nancy - as pair 'refuse to speak' amid 'bitter feud'
As we have come to expect, there is as much drama going on behind the scenes of Strictly Come Dancing as there is each week on the dance floor, with Amy Dowden having to quit this series due to injury and rumours of a tense atmosphere between former couple Kai Widdrington and Nadiya Bychkova. Now it is claimed that professional dancers Nancy Xu and Carlos Gu, who were friends, have reportedly fallen out and unfollowed each other on social media, and a recent social media post from Carlos has added to the concern of fans.
Carlos recently posted a backstage photo of some of the dancers that included Johannes, Jowita, Aljaz, Nikita and Nancy, but eagle-eyed fans noticed he tagged everyone except Nancy in the photo. One follower commented: “Why didn’t u tag Nancy??” and another replied, “They’ve blocked each other,” while someone else added: “Don’t think they’re friends anymore just being civil.”
Carlos does not have a celebrity partner in the show this year, while Nancy has been paired with Shayne Ward. A source told The Sun that the pair are now standing apart from each other, most noticeably during the Icons Week show on Saturday 2 November.

“The feud between Nancy and Carlos is really sad and has left everyone really shocked. They’ve been close since childhood, but have fallen out and unfollowed each other on socials. The atmosphere on set is said to be awkward and tense when both are around, and to many it was a relief when Carlos didn’t attend the show weeks ago. Carlos is said to be subdued after the falling-out and is also struggling with not getting a celebrity partner."
Carlos, who recently wowed viewers when he dressed up as Claudia Winkleman during Halloween Week on the show, used to affectionately call Nancy his "favourite sister" and she would refer to him as her "baby brother" but it is alleged that they are not as close as they were.
However, in a BBC Instagram post on Wednesday 6 November, Nancy and Carlos can be seen looking comfortable together while doing an Apple Dance with Strictly superfan Yinrun Huang, who was a finalist on Big Brother last year and recently visited the judges and dancers on the Strictly set.
A source for Strictly Come Dancing also said that Nancy and Carlos “both are extremely cordial and always incredibly professional on Strictly premises.” OK! has also approached Carlos and Nancy’s representatives for comment.
