Stressed student texts parents from 600 miles away. An hour later they are hugging her.

When a college student needed help, her mom and dad were there at the double.

Finals can be a stressful time, and 20-year-old Breanna Lambert, a student at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, was certainly feeling the strain.

“I was just feeling very overwhelmed with school,” Breanna said. “And I also didn’t get to travel home for Thanksgiving because of my job, so that was really hard on me.”

What she longed for was a hug and a pep talk from her parents. But as far as she knew, they were 600 miles away in southern Wisconsin. So, instead, she settled for sending a text asking them to give her a call.

However, never discount parents' intuition. Unbeknownst to Breanna, her mom and dad had sensed her mood much earlier. Realizing she was homesick and needed their support, they were already on their way to catch a flight to see her when they got her message.

So it was that just over an hour after sending the text, Breanna was shocked to see the people she needed most.
