In Stranger Things, Natalia Dyer's character Nancy Wheeler faces just about every hellish creature in the underworld, or rather, The Upside Down. She battles the Mindflayer and sentient vines that wrap around your limbs, and eventually takes on season 4's main and terrifying villain, Vecna, with a gritty sense of purpose. However, when ELLE UK met Dyer for a game of Knowing Me, Knowing You, we saw a softer side to the actor.
Humble and a self-confessed 'introvert', the 27-year-old spoke candidly about everything from her childhood crush to being an accomplice to co-star Joe Keery's unapologetic on-set pranks.
In fact, Dyer had quite a lot to say about her 30-year-old co-star Keery and how his likability made him a firm favourite among Stranger Things fans, cast and creators.
'Honestly, he's like the nicest guy I think I've ever met. He's a lot funnier I think, in real life. Steve [Harrington, Keery's character] originally was supposed to be killed off. The story goes that Joe was just so likeable that they just couldn't do it,' she admitted.
'I have been accomplice to or just [a] witness of Joe Keery playing pranks on people,' she explained, regaling ELLE UK of a time he used a tomato to poke fun at her partner and co-star Charlie Heaton's English accent. 'It's just innocent and hilariously simple,' she enthused.
Elsewhere, Dyer addressed comparisons between her boyfriend and Stranger Things co-star Charlie Heaton and fellow Brit Harry Styles. 'Charlie Heaton allegedly looks a bit like Harry Styles, so they say, allegedly,' she joked.
When asked if she has a crush on the former One Direction star, Dyer responded: 'I mean yeah, he's a very good looking guy, isn't he?' before going on to speak about her newfound love for his music.
On the subject of young love, we delved deep into memory lane, exploring all her childhood crushes, including Orlando Bloom.
When it came to the quiz questions that most surprised her, it was Millie Bobby Brown's childhood role in Grey's Anatomy, Mathew Modine turning down a role in Top Gun - ('I wonder how he feels about that,' she said) and Finn Woldhard's obsession with frogs.
