Mark Wahlberg recently revealed that he starts his day in the middle of the night to make time for his exercise routine before going to work.

The actor openly discussed the details of his unconventional schedule with a photographer on the streets of New York, explaining: "Tomorrow I'm getting up [at] 2.30, in the gym [by] 3.30, finish about 5.30, go to work 7.30," as reported by Fox News.

He noted that he makes time for "a lot of prayer" in between his jam-packed list of to dos, also saying that once he starts working, this will include "reading, script work, then I've got a bunch of interviews."

In terms of his diet, there's not much room for flexibility either. "I probably won't eat a meal until [he mused] – last meal today [was] 6 – so tomorrow probably noontime."

He said he goes to bed around 7.30pm – less surprising perhaps given his exceptionally early start.

But if this all sounds a little bonkers, check out the rest of his routine which he shared to his Instagram stories back in 2018. It read:

"2:30am wake up

"2:45am prayer time

"3:15am breakfast

"3:40 - 5.15am workout

"5:30am post-workout meal

"6:00am shower

"7:30am golf

"8:00am snack

"9:30am cryo chamber recovery

"10:30am snack

"11:00am family time/meetings/work calls

"3:30pm pick up kids @school

"3.30pm snack

"4:00pm workout

"5:00pm shower

"5:30pm dinner/family time

"7.30pm bedtime"

But, perhaps a precise routine goes with the celeb territory, as he's not the only star to have strange fitness habits. Fancy trying any of these below?

Orlando Bloom has previously opened up about his life with Katy Perry and their one-year-old daughter Daisy, with health and wellbeing forming a key part of his day. It's safe to say that while he too likes to do certain things every day, he takes a slightly more holistic approach.

Speaking to The Sunday Times in March last year, he said, "I wake up around 6.30. I have a smart ring sleep tracker and the first thing I do is look at the app to see if I've had a good sleep and check my readiness for the day."

Then, when he's checked on his daughter, and left Perry to have more of a lie-in, he'll do his daily ritual – chanting.

"I chant for 20 minutes every day, religiously. I've had a Buddhist practice since I was 16, so that's infiltrated my whole being. I'll read a bit of Buddhism and then I'll type it up and add it to my [Instagram] Stories. Other than that, I won't look at my phone yet. I don't want to be sucked into the black hole of social media."

He likes to "earn" his breakfast, he claims, a phrase some might find unusual. "So I'll just have some green powders that I mix with brain octane oil, a collagen powder for my hair and nails, and some protein. It's all quite LA, really," he admitted.

"Then I'll go for a hike while I listen to some Nirvana or Stone Temple Pilots."

Afterwards, he has his official breakfast by 9am, which usually consists of porridge, hazelnut milk, cinnamon, vanilla paste, hazelnuts, goji berries, a vegan protein powder and a cup of PG Tips. "I'm 90% plant-based, so I'll only eat a really good piece of red meat maybe once a month.

"I sometimes look at a cow and think, that’s the most beautiful thing ever. At some point in time we’ll look back and not be able to believe we used to eat meat."

For lunch he'll eat mostly plant-based again, vegetables or stew, either cooked by himself or a team of people, having dinner once Daisy is in bed. He finally hits the sack himself at 11pm – aiming for a refreshing eight hours of sleep to keep himself and his fitness tracker happy.

Variety is usually key to a good diet, but Victoria Beckham has reportedly chosen to eat the same meal for the past 25 years – steamed vegetables and grilled fish.

Her husband David revealed her food habits on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast, saying she has only deviated from this meal once when she was pregnant with their daughter Harper, which he described as one of his "favourite" evenings.

But the Spice Girls star and fashion designer is no stranger to extreme health and fitness choices, as she has also dabbled in a spot of face yoga. "She hopes the exercises will stop people calling her miserable as they'll give her face more expression," said a friend, as reported by The Guardian.

'Face yoga' involves massaging and moving your face in ways that stimulate muscles, skin and the lymphatic system, with the intention of helping to relieve stress, as well as aiming to improve the appearance of your face. Perhaps this was the start of many now using a 'dermaroller' to rejuvenate the skin in a similar way...

Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, revealed that his 'me time' (two hours awake alone in the middle of the night) is a big part of his routine, with his mental fitness being just as important as his physical fitness.

"The only thing that's regimented is I have to wake up before the sun gets up, and I have my two hours alone when no one else is up and the house is quiet," he previously told Variety, explaining that he uses the time to meditate, get some work done, think about his day and make time for his training.

He added, "I often sacrifice two hours of sleep just so I can have the quiet two hours that I need before the whole house wakes up, including the animals."

But while it seems a little daunting, he clearly reaps the rewards from it. "I need the mental time in the beginning, and the next thing is my training time. Those are my two anchors, and once I'm able to anchor myself, I'm able to go to work, and then I get in my pickup truck and drive to set.

"I'm able to work 10, 12, 14 hours if I know that I've centred and anchored my day in the beginning," he said, also explaining to Variety he's getting by on only three to five hours of sleep a night.

Mel B has spoken openly about her enthusiasm for 'sexercise' in the past, revealing how having sex five times a day with her husband Stephen Belafonte helps her to stay fit.

The now 46-year-old told Grazia, "I'm honestly not body-obsessed – I can't be with three kids and a husband.

"My husband likes my muscles, but then he's seen me every which way over the past eight years – including when I put on 42lbs after my last pregnancy – and he always loves my body.

"In fact, on top of all my exercise, I have sex with him five times a day – maybe that has something to do with it. I have to admit, I'm a nymphomaniac with him. It's sexercise."

She later re-affirmed this, telling Access Hollywood Live how she keeps healthy and fit, "If I'm honest, it's lots of working out, which is a commitment and boring... and then sexercise."
