The 31 year old musician, real name Michael Ebenazer Owuo Junior, has previously come under fire for driving offences. Previously, he confessed to hitting the road in a Lamborghini Urus which sported front windows with illegal tint levels, allowing a mere 4% light transmission instead of the legal minimum of 70%, placing other road users in jeopardy, according to prosecutor Alice Holloway.

Stormzy had already received warnings about his car's ultra-dark windows and was caught earlier by police on Coombe Lane, Kingston upon Thames, on October 17, 2023, Before the latest court session, he was already sitting on six penalty points.

At the hearing he did not attend, District Judge Andrew Sweet decided on a ban from driving for nine months for Stormzy, slapping him with a fine of £2,010. Lamenting his "not good" driving history, the judge lambasted the artist's "dangerous and irresponsible" approach to road safety.

Meanwhile, Peter Csemiczky, representing Stormzy, mentioned that the rapper acknowledges his faults and has expressed regret, noting he has since removed the contentious window tints.

Stormzy's driving ban comes as he recently debuted his new romance with singer Victoria Monet. The rapper was snapped kissing the US singer in London's Heathrow Airport back in October, three months after he split from girlfriend of one year Maya Jama.

He and Maya had previously been together from 2014 until 2019, splitting before reconciling in 2023. However, things didn't work out and the couple announced their break-up last year.

It is not known whether Stormzy is in a relationship with Victoria, with the pair keeping a low-profile since they were seen kissing. While Maya was also spotted with a new love interest recently as she enjoyed a date with footballer Ruben Dias over the New Year's Eve celebrations.

This isn't the first whisper of a potential link-up between Maya and Ruben as eagle-eyed fans noticed them following each other on social media after both attended the MTV EMAs in Manchester in November, with Ruben allegedly making the first move, reports the Daily Star.
