Step inside Bazaar's intimate Burns Night Dinner
On Monday night, in the candlelit splendour of Mount St Restaurant’s Scottish Room, Bazaar hosted an intimate Burns Night dinner. The evening was a double celebration, as it marked the inaugural event of Privé – Harper’s Bazaar’s first ever membership club.
Guests including Lesley Manville, Joanna Vanderham, Lulu and Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe arrived in a fleet of Mercedes cars and were greeted with a Louis Roederer champagne reception in Mount St’s cosy games room. Lauren Cuthbertson entered fresh from rehearsals for her upcoming role in Onegin and the actress Katie Leung talked excitedly about her own forthcoming project – season four of Bridgerton. Guests were then ushered down to dinner with a rousing bagpipe performance from Sammie the Piper.
Bazaar’s editor-in-chief Lydia Slater made a welcoming speech and introduced the group to Privé, which will offer its members exclusive access to exceptional experiences throughout the year. Attendees enjoyed a delicious four-course dinner featuring dishes such as Orkney scallops with smoked haddock hash and Highland venison. Dining was paused for a round of Fife Arms whisky drams as the haggis was piped into the room. The guest of honour, Brian Cox, then recited the traditional Robert Burns address with dramatic aplomb, much to the delight of all assembled.
