The resort is located in Punta Mita — a 1,500-acre resort and residential community on Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit that is a roughly 45-minute trip from Puerto Vallarta. The community of Punta Mita has been the vacation destination for Hollywood A-listers including Beyoncé, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lawrence and more.
The St. Regis teamed up with Mexico-based design firm B-Huber for the redesign, aiming to pay “homage to the natural surroundings and the destination’s rich cultural heritage, creating a Mexican-Mediterranean feel,” according to a release. The updated design heavily features local materials and textures such as travertine marble, blown glass, clay ceilings, hammered brass and natural woods.
The newly introduced residential-style beachfront villas offer guests the choice of one to three-bedroom accommodations. The spaces, seemingly ideal for families or larger parties, include reimagined terraces with personal lounge pools and direct beach access. All of the resort’s 120 guest rooms and the ocean and garden view suites have also been updated, featuring locally inspired interior touches such as Mexican art and handcrafted finishings.
During the renovation, the resort’s wellness spot – The St. Regis Spa – upgraded the outdoor facilities and treatment rooms. The resort also made changes to its food offerings, opening several new restaurants and a lobby bar. Chef Pablo Arias was recently appointed as the resort’s executive chef.
The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita also has a large presence in Punta Mita, including the recently added all-inclusive camp Naviva. The adults-only property allows guests to stay in luxury tents, which run for over $4,000 per night, and include complimentary spa and activity experiences.
Rooms available at The St. Regis Punta Mita from $845 per night at marriott.com and at booking.com.
