Sprite Is Bringing Back the Fan-Loved Flavor That Sells Out Every Year
Just in time for the holidays.
The weather outside might not be frightful just yet, but some people are already counting down to the holidays. If that’s you, then you’re likely thrilled to learn about brands releasing their holiday products early. From new tree-shaped Twizzlers to Chips Ahoy! bringing its beloved Hot Cocoa Chewy Cookies back after eight years, this holiday season’s snack lineup is turning heads—and it’s not even Halloween yet.
In the soda world, a few brands have launched their holiday drinks so far, including the return of Canada Dry’s Cranberry Ginger Ale and the all-new 7-Up Shirley Temple. However, we all know the holiday season isn’t complete without one fan-favorite seasonal pop: Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry.
Sprite's Winter Spiced Cranberry Returns
Winter Spiced Cranberry came onto the Sprite scene in 2019, when Coca-Cola changed the classic Sprite Cranberry—which had been a holiday staple for six years—to a new warm spice- and tart cranberry-flavored lemon-lime soda. The holiday Sprite became an immediate favorite and has remained one for the past five years, consistently selling out every holiday season.
With Coca-Cola announcing the discontinuation of its Coca-Cola Spiced soda—which only hit shelves in February—fans might have been concerned about the fate of the spiced Sprite this year. But, there’s no need to fret because Sprite has announced its Winter Spiced Cranberry flavor is coming back.
Both Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry and Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry Zero Sugar are returning for yet another holiday run. The sodas are rolling out on retailer shelves nationwide now, where they’ll be available in both cans and bottles, so you can stock up for any kind of holiday celebration.
Sprite isn’t the only lemon-lime soda adding cranberry to its lineup. PepsiCo’s Starry, the brand’s replacement for the discontinued Sierra Mist, is introducing a seasonal Cranberry Starry this year. However, there is a catch: The cranberry-infused soda will only be available at KFC restaurants (alongside Cranberry Pepsi and Cranberry Mountain Dew Sweet Lightning) for a limited time.
No matter how you choose to enjoy cranberry soda this year—be it as-is, in mocktails, or even cocktails—you’d better watch out, because Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry is coming (back) to town.
