Spring Fling kicks off at NPF Fairgrounds

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — If you’re looking for some fun this weekend in the Circle City, the Spring Fling is in town for the next 10 days.

Reithoffer Shows is putting on a small mini Peanut Festival at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds for the next week.

The gates opened Friday night and will stay open until 10 p.m. on Friday.

Anyone attending this festival will go through a metal detector and be wanded. They ask that you don’t bring any weapons into the fairgrounds

25 rides will be available for Spring Fling goers, while they can also take part in the carnival games and the fair foods, which organizers are always a fair favorite

“You know a lot of people say they come to the fair for the food nowadays,” Owner/Operator of Spring Fling, Matthew Reithoffer said. “We got plenty of good fair food. Cotton candy, candy apples, corn dogs, funnel cakes, the works, whatever you need.”

Organizers also say you can earn free entry into the carnival by buying a ticket to this weekend’s R&B Show and then to next weekend’s sheriff rodeo.

Spring Fling runs from May 3-12.
