There we were just minding our own business on a rainy Sunday, when Blake Lively decided to make our day by way of a previously unseen Gossip Girl cast photo.

Lively shared the snap, taken during the early days of the hit show from 2007, of herself dressed in Serena Van Der Woodsen Upper East Side school uniform along with her castmates.

With the show having ended eight whole years ago in 2012 and a revival delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the snap certainly warmed the hearts of the show's fans (even if they do still watch reruns on Netflix - no judgement), judging by the 2.5 million likes the photo had amassed just 24 hours later

The photo shows the cast in season one of the show all dressed up for a day at Constance Billard School for Girls and St Jude's School for boys, where they'll undoubtedly spend their lunchtime on the steps of the Met Gala and evenings at a party that is likely not meant for school-aged teenagers.

At the right of the photo, Lively is seen holding the hand of her fellow female lead Leighton Meester who, of course, played serial headband-wearer Blair Waldorf. At the back of the photo Penn Badgley (Lonely Boy, Dan), Chase Crawford (Nate Archibald) and Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass) can be seen with the latter also next to Amanda Setton who played Penelope in the series.

The rare gem of a photo follows a recent GG reunion between Badgley and Crawford who, during an interview, reminisced about their time on the show, and even discussed the controversial decision about the true identity of Gossip Girl.

Xoxo.
