Sports Illustrated magazine shares video of dangerous photoshoot with Kate Upton

Back in October, Kate Upton starred in a photoshoot for Sports Illustrated magazine but the 25-year-old didn’t expect to end up in dangerous waters.

The model headed to the Caribbean island of Aruba for the swimwear shoot and the topless photo series required the model to clamber upon rocks in a dramatic tiered skirt.

But the waves around her soon gained momentum and despite a member of the crew rushing to grab her hand, the model inevitably lost her balance.

And in dramatic footage shared by the magazine, Upton can be seen falling into the sea before the team dashed to her attention. Luckily, the 25-year-old emerged unscathed.

In a short clip following the incident, the model joked: “I saw the next wave coming, it didn’t look that large from my point of view but it must have hit the rock just right and caught on and the skirt is very wet and with all the tulle is very heavy and dragged me down.”

Upton made her debut for the magazine back in 2011 and has graced the cover of the annual edition in 2012, 2013 and 2017.

The model has recently spoken out about the harsh reality of the modelling world, after the 25-year-old took to Instagram to call out Guess co-founder, Paul Marciano, for sexual harassment.

In a candid #MeToo post, Upton expressed her disappointment with the industry for allowing the designer to ‘sexually and emotionally harass women’.

The model starred in several campaigns for the fashion label throughout 2010 and 2011 but did not state whether she was a victim of Marciano.
