Spinach Ice Cream? Jeni’s Debuts New Green Smoothie Flavor
The spinach dessert includes banana, pineapple, orange, mango and coconut cream
A new green ice cream flavor is here!
On Thursday, Jan. 9, Jeni’s Ice Cream revealed that they now have a Green Smoothie ice cream option in their lineup.
Inspired by the wellness drink, the ice cream brand assured customers that the choice was just as delicious as other tasty desserts.
“Happy New Year! With an influx of new products hitting the shelves, this one stands out as our favorite — guaranteed to make you do a double take: Jeni’s NEW Green Smoothie ice cream,” a press release obtained by PEOPLE reads.
The statement adds, “Yes, it’s inspired by your go-to wellness drink, and yes, it has spinach — but trust us, it’s delicious.”

The spinach treat mixes banana, pineapple, orange and mango together, as well as coconut cream.
“It’s like your favorite smoothie went on vacation and came back in dessert form — refreshing, indulgent, and oh-so-balanced,” the release adds.

Explaining why the flavor is “worth every scoop,” Jeni’s Ice Cream writes that it’s “a vibrant mix of tropical fruits creates a bright and juicy profile.”
“Spinach adds a subtle earthiness to balance the sweetness and delivers a gorgeous green hue,” the release continues. “Creamy coconut ice cream swirls in for that smoothie texture and a touch of indulgence."
In photos, the ice cream features a light green color with a swirl of cream.
The new addition comes ahead of Jeni’s Ice Cream’s upcoming Blueberry Johnnycakes, which will be debuted on Ice Cream for Breakfast Day on Jan. 27.
“Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, a longstanding holiday celebrated by Jeni’s is coming up on 2/1, and we’ll be launching Blueberry Johnnycakes (think fluffy pancake nostalgia in ice cream form) on 1/27,” the press release reads.
