Sound-absorbing art for a quieter home
Artwork can act as a catalyst for a colour scheme and can serve as a focal point in a room, helping to anchor a space. But who knew your wall art could be functional too? Enter Paper Collective's latest launch – beautifully designed art panels that not only enhance your decor but also absorb sound, creating a more peaceful environment at home.
Available exclusively from The Roost, these artworks offer the perfect blend of form and function. Whether you're planning a large statement piece or a well-curated gallery wall, there's a diverse range of designs on offer, from bold Bauhaus to serene landscapes and florals to suit all interior styles.
But these works of art don't just look good. The panels are designed to soften and absorb sound, perfect for open-plan spaces where sound tends to bounce around or for home offices where privacy and concentration are key.
So how exactly does it work? The technology behind these panels is just as impressive as their designs. Created in collaboration with the acoustic pioneers of Akuart, it's made from PET with 50 per cent fibres from recycled plastic bottles, with the 'best-in-class sound-absorbing classifications in all tests'.
Whether it’s low-frequency sounds like thunder or deep male voices, or high-frequency noises like a high-pitched whistle or a child’s voice, these panels effectively reduce reverberation, softening the acoustics of your home to create the optimal surroundings for speaking and listening.
There are two variations: Home 30 effectively regulates high and sharp tones and is ideal for open-plan homes, home offices and dining spaces. While Home 50 is great for minimally designed homes with predominantly hard surfaces such as tiled flooring and large windows which can result in sound oscillating between the floor, walls and ceiling surfaces.
'Improving the sound quality and reducing bounce back noise – which is a common issue in many open-plan homes – the panels transform how we enjoy our homes with added tranquility,' says Will Plowden, founder of The Roost. 'Not only a smart addition to open-plan spaces, but they are a stylish choice for home offices to boost privacy and aid concentration.'
Combining sustainability, style, and functionality, Paper Collective's acoustic panels offer the perfect finishing touch to any room, ideal for those looking to create a serene, quiet space without compromising on design.
