Social media users react to Johnny Depp returning as face of Dior cologne campaign
Watch: Johnny Depp reportedly signs new seven-figure deal with Dior
Johnny Depp has returned as the face of Dior's Sauvage scent after winning his defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard.
The French fashion house shared a series of photos to Instagram on Monday, featuring monotone stills of the actor and musician, 59, before he joined Jeff Beck on stage in Paris, as well as a video of him talking about the cologne.
Depp began his collaboration with Dior back in 2015 and continued it throughout his divorce from Amber Heard. Dior paused airing the Sauvage commercial on TV when accusations of domestic violence circulated but it doesn't seem that the brand ever completely dropped the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
At the time, the move was seen as controversial by some, with calls from the public for Depp to be removed as a Dior ambassador. But since his win at the defamation trial against Heard in the US in June, the actor's now firmly back in the Dior fold and his ads are airing again. There are reports swirling that he's signed a seven-figure deal with the luxury label.
Fans have largely responded positively to the partnership's revival. "This is awesome news!" commented one Instagram user one of posts shared by Dior Beauty.
Others commented, "Good to see Johnny back!", "What a come back story!" and "we love you forever".
Another said, "Well Johnny, it's wonderful to see you have found your inner tranquility. It's all in your smile! Welcome back beautiful man!"

Many more also flooded the comments to thank Dior for 'standing by' him.
"Speechless and great full with DIOR for staying true to Johnny Depp they never doubted his innocence and they always stood firmly by his side,", "I'm so proud of you John and thank you DIOR," "Merci Dior, heroes of justice ... and style" and "Dior and Johnny! What else is s left to say. The best!!", are among just some of them.
The hashtag '#ThankYouDior' is also used in multiple people's reactions.
And as well as fans, members of the team expressed their delight too.
Photographer Greg Williams, wrote, "So great to see you mate - much love xx."
Meanwhile Victoria Brynner, who also worked on the campaign, added, "the best night the best team loved being reunited."

While the reaction seems to be almost entirely positive, a few social media users were still arguing Amber Heard's side with one commenter arguing that Deep shouldn't be seen as a 'victim' because he won a defamation suit and another claiming Dior supports 'abusers'.
Depp was awarded a total of £15 million in damages after a jury found Heard defamed him in an op-ed 2018 article she wrote about her experience being domestically abused (she didn't specifically name Depp).
Depp had originally filed the suit, before Heard counter-sued him. Heard was awarded £2 million in damages.
