Suddenly found yourself with lots of extra time on your hands? Yeah, us too.

You may have also found yourself struggling to get hold of certain ingredients in supermarkets. So, recipes using very few ingredients – ideally store-cupboard bits and bobs – are a godsend right now.

We’ve already brought you a store-cupboard chocolate cake recipe, as well as this nifty slow cooker bread recipe, which is so easy, it’s outrageous. But how do you fancy some three-ingredient slow cooker scones for afternoon tea?

They are made using just cream, flour and lemonade. Yup… lemonade. So, get rummaging in the garage for a bottle, which may have been left over after your New Year’s Eve party.

The recipe, which was shared on the Slow Cooker Recipe and Tips Facebook group, is dead easy and makes a load of delicious, fluffy scones.

Slow cooker scone ingredients:

  • 1 cup of cream

  • 2 cups of lemonade

  • 3 cups of flour

Slow cooker scone method:

  • Mix together all the ingredients, then roll the dough out onto a floured surface.

  • Use a cookie cutter to cut out the shapes, then brush the top with a little milk, if you have some in the fridge.

  • Pop the scones inside your slow cooker with some baking paper and a tea towel under the lid. Cook them on the high setting for 90 minutes.

If you don’t have a slow cooker, some people have commented on the Facebook post that you can bake them in your oven instead. Simply pre-heat your oven to 180c/160c fan. Then bake your scones for 15 minutes, or until they’re lovely and golden on top.

Now we just have to hunt down some jam to go on these bad boys…
