Silverstone Run Fest: Everything you need to know

Silverstone’s legendary F1 track will open up again this year for runners and their families. Whether you’re chasing a PB in the half marathon or looking to complete your debut 5K, here’s your chance to race around the world-famous tarmac and follow in the tyre marks of Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher on the Hangar straight or Crip corner.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the big day.

When is the 2025 Silverstone Run Fest?

This year’s event will take place on Sunday 23 November at the Silverstone Circuit in Towcester, Northamptonshire. On the same day, there will also be a 10K, 5K and one-mile race.

What time does the race start?

Although the start times for the 2025 Silverstone Run Fest have not yet been confirmed, the 2024 times, as a guide, were as follows: 9:30am for the mile and 9:45am for the 5K, 10K and half marathon.

How do I get my bib number?

Bib numbers will be posted to UK residents. International participants will need to pick up their bib number on race day, as they will need be posted out to them in advance.

Will there be a bag drop and changing facilities at the event?

Participants will be able to use the tear-off baggage strip on their bib number to leave essential belongings at the bag drop.

Female and male changing rooms will be available in two dedicated pit garages, but please note that the event will have no dedicated showers. The changing areas will not be supervised, so participants should not leave items here. If you’re running, and if possible, try to arrive ready to run, as these facilities will be very busy and have limited space.

What is the Silverstone Run Fest route?

The flat Silverstone track is very fast and will be perfect for anyone hunting a PB, or for those who are taking on their first half marathon. The run, which starts and ends at the same spot, weaves around the world famous corners and straights of the legendary track.

Are there any toilets along the route?

There are no toilets along the route. However, toilets will be available from 7:30am at the start and finish area – these will be located opposite the bag drop.

Will water be available at aid stations?

Four water stations will be available on the half marathon route, while two will feature on the 10K route. There will be no aid stations on the 5K route, so 5K participants should carry any water that they’ll need themselves.

How do I get to the start line?

By car

From the North

  • Silverstone is 60 minutes south of Birmingham – there is easy road access along the A43 dual carriageway from the M1 motorway.

From the South

  • Silverstone is 90 minutes north of central London from the M40 motorway and A43 dual carriageway.

Parking is available at the Silverstone Car Park and is included in your entry fee.

By train

Wolverton is the closest train station to Silverstone and has direct train services from London Euston, Birmingham New Street and Northampton Rail Stations. Banbury, Milton Keynes and Northampton train stations are also close by.

By bus

Stagecoach offers local bus routes to the Silverstone circuit, but expect the service to be crowded on race day. The bus drop-off area is near the circuit entrance.

Can I wear headphones during the Silverstone Run Fest?

In-ear and over-ear headphones are prohibited at this event. Instead, you may opt to wear bone-conduction headphones.

What else is going on other than the race?

If you’re not looking to participate in any races at the Silverstone Run Fest, inside the race village you’ll find live bands and activities for children, such as table tennis.

Run Fest participants receive 50% off an entry into the Silverstone Museum, too, which provides an interactive journey through the world of motorsport and is designed for all ages. This discounted entry is available from 24 November to 8 December 2025.

Salcey Forest is also located just 20 minutes from Silverstone. Perfect for all ages, it has a treetop walk and plenty of walking trails to explore.
