The show with Gavin & Stacey stars you should watch if you want your fix after the finale
Beloved BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey has officially ended after bringing laughs and love to viewers' lives for nearly decade. Over 12 million people tuned in on Christmas Day to return to Barry for one last time to see how Nessa and Smithy's love story would end.
Announcing the episode in 2024, creators Ruth Jones and James Corden confirmed that it would be the show's last. Commemorating the occasion, a documentary titled A Fond Farewell aired on New Year's Day and took fans behind the scenes on the creation of the show, and even ended with a glimpse into Uncle Bryn and Jason's infamous fishing trip.
Now the show is officially over, many fans will already be looking for another way to get their Gavin & Stacey fix. Luckily, Ruth Jones followed up Gavin & Stacey with a warm-hearted comedy drama set in the south Wales valleys. So if you are already missing Gavin & Stacey and don't already know about it, Stella could be one for you.

Filmed in and around the Rhondda Valleys, Stella followed the ups and downs of the residents of Pontyberry, including single mam Stella herself, played by Ruth Jones. Throughout the series, there were a number of cameos from Gavin & Stacey stars.
The show, which aired on Sky One, ran for six series from 2012 to 2017, and was created by Ruth Jones alongside David Peet. It followed Stella, a nurse, as she grappled with life, love and her neighbours in the fictional town of Pontyberry.
Steffan Rhodri, who stars as Dave Coaches in Gavin & Stacey, made a cameo as Leon in one episode of the comedy drama. Melanie Walters, best known for playing Gwen, makes an appearance as a midwife and James Corden also has a cameo.
Another show that could help you get your Gavin & Stacey fix, although set outside of south Wales, is Fat Friends, created by Kay Mellor. The show follows the members of a fictional slimming club in Leeds and explores the impact their weight has on them. For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter
