Sheer Dresses Were Popular at the Golden Globes 2024: Florence Pugh, Kristen Wiig and More Stars Who Embraced the Trend
The red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday saw a surge of see-through fashions, worn by celebrities including Kristin Wiig, Florence Pugh and Emma Stone, who brought the sheer trend into 2024.

Kristin Wiig
Wiig arrived at the Golden Globes in a Giambattista Valli ensemble. The black two-piece had a sheer design down the front, with bows near thin shoulder straps. The well-known comedian also wore a pearl bracelet and pearl stud earrings by Tiffany & Co.
Emma Stone
The Golden Globe winner took home an award for her performance in “Poor Things” on Sunday night wearing a bedazzled floral gown by Louis Vuitton. The sheer number was decorated with glistening roses and featured a high leg slit and a plunging neckline. She paired it with gold, strappy heels.
Florence Pugh
Pugh — who has been regularly dressing in sheer looks since summer 2022 — donned a red, sheer Valentino gown at the Golden Globe Awards. The gown featured a plunging neckline, rouched bodice and three-dimensional roses throughout. Pugh was styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray and accentuated her look with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including a Jean Schlumberger necklace.
Riley Keough
The “Daisy Jones & The Six” star and Golden Globe nominee arrived on the red carpet in a layered, sheer ensemble from Chanel’s spring 2023 haute couture collection. The strapless, lace dress had a small train and was layered beneath a shorter, translucent dress with gold embellishments. Riley Keough was styled by Jamie Mizrahi with jewelry from Chanel, including her ring and earrings.
Emily Blunt
The “Oppenheimer” actress was nominated for a Golden Globe and made an entrance to the red carpet in a custom Alexander McQueen gown. The V-neck metallic slipdress featured gold floral accents and flared into a sheer, white skirt. Emily Blunt continued the gold theme with a diamond-encrusted gold leaf necklace from Tiffany & Co., Jimmy Choo shoes and shimmering gold nails.
Kate Beckinsale
Kate Beckinsale wore an Atelier Zuhra gown with a glittery bodysuit underneath a sheer skirt. She also added several notable jewelry pieces, including cuff bracelets, rings and large, silver earrings. She topped off the ensemble with a matching pair of silver platform heels.
Hunter Schafer
Hunter Schafer made a statement on the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards with an airy Prada gown. The windy evening in Beverly Hills event gave extra movement to Schafer’s see-through gown. Beneath the sheer fabric, Schafer wore a white slip and matched the ensemble with pointed-toe heels.
Hannah Waddingham
The 2024 Golden Globe nominee donned a black and sheer dress for the 2024 event. The floor-length gothic gown had lace fabric throughout, corset-like paneling and a floral pattern along the sheer sleeves.
Skai Jackson
Though she glittered in silver during the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globes, Skai Jackson donned a sheer, black Georges Chakra dress at the event’s after party. The actress wore a dramatic midi dress with cutouts at the waist and embroidered patterns throughout. Jackson paired the look with black pointed-toe high-heels and a silver smokey-eye.
