Shawn Johnson East & husband welcome third baby!
Life is good for retired Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson East and her husband Andrew East. Their third baby was born via c-section on Tuesday December 12, according to their FamilyMade newsletter. The family has decided not to share the name or sex of the baby with the public yet because they wanted to take the time to spend a few days with their newest family member first.
This wonderful addition comes after months of trying, according to the couple’s website announcement when they shared this pregnancy with the world. “After months of trying, thinking we were pregnant and then being bummed we weren’t, and a couple times getting pregnant and experiencing loss early on, we’re confident this one is here to stay. We wanted to wait a while to officially announce the news. Here’s to all the nausea, cravings, back pain, and other fun things we go through that are totally worth it to ultimately hold a little baby in our arms. Here we go again!” Shawn shared on their website.
And the new baby is finally here and everyone is ecstatic.
Big brother Jett James, 2, and Big sister Drew Hazel, 4, are super excited for their newest sibling, PEOPLE reported.
According to PEOPLE, Shawn said in the announcement, “Seeing them meet their newest sibling was the sweetest thing EVER. They’ve been so gentle with the baby and I know they’re glad the wait is over, especially Drew.”
“Life is so good and we are feeling really blessed to have a third healthy baby join our family,” PEOPLE reported Andrew saying in the announcement.
And the newest addition’s birthday has an even sweeter meaning to the family.
“My dad was born on December 9 and passed away unexpectedly on December 27 of last year, so December is a really impactful month for us. Having our baby born so close to my dad’s birthday feels really special and I know he would be smiling down and so proud of us,” Andrew said in the newsletter according to PEOPLE.
