So, Shakira just accidentally dyed her hair scarlet
You're not asking me to estimate exactly what proportion of the transatlantic celebrity population has been won over by the allure of getting pink hair while on lockdown.
...But if you were, I'd hazard a guess that, by now, we're surely reaching one pink-haired celebrity per kilometre sq.
We've seen everyone from Dua Lipa to Nicole Poturalski, Kylie Jenner to Cardi B experimenting with the hue - it truly is the hair trend that encapsulates our collective 'what the heck' approach to lockdown DIY hair.
And so, it was only a matter of time before hair queen Shakira got a piece of the action. Except, regrettably, she didn't get exactly what she bargained for.
A couple of hours ago she took to Instagram to share a selfie entitled 'Voilà!', complete with an incredible, fiery mane of wine red (reminiscent, actually, of a festive Kylie Jenner). She then followed up the pic with a behind-the-scenes video, explaining the story behind her sudden hair switch-up.
You can view the video below, but the captions are in Spanish, so we've translated for you. Laughing and using a hot brush to groom her incredible new red mane, she explains:
"The idea was to go more pink, but I ran out of pink... I needed to mix it with another product I had, that was little more intense..."
Anyway, mistake or no mistake, she pulls the look off amazingly. We've all been there, Shakira pal.
Anyone else about *this* close to mixing up their very own rosey-red blend and hopping aboard the DIY trend? Because I'm certainly sold...
