Shakira’s Couture “NO” Dress Is an Entire Mood

Shakira woke up and said: No. Absolutely not. No to everything.

The Colombian singer stepped out today in Paris, amid Fashion Week, to attend Viktor & Rolf’s Fall/Winter 2023–24 Haute Couture show. She sat front row next to fellow pop star Camila Cabello in an all-white look that voiced what’s really on her mind.

The star of the outfit was an icy-white coat dress with a giant NO sign protruding from the bust, which hailed from Viktor & Rolf’s Fall 2008 collection (full of NO designs). The seams of the wrap dress are embellished with golden metal and white crystals—even on the belt, sleeves, and collar. The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer paired the maximalist piece with strappy golden platform sandals and a matching clutch bag by Aquazzura. She additionally accessorized with big rose-tinted sunglasses by Carrera.

The musical diva looked glamorous in rosy, glowy makeup and a sleek straight hairdo.

After the runway show, she shared a photo of herself and Cabello sitting next to each other in the front row, both holding up their pointer fingers as if to echo Shakira’s dress by saying no. (Fans in the comments think the singers may be teasing a future collaboration!)

The mom of two didn’t give any context before emerging in the bold look today, but it comes amid her big career comeback, which follows her split from longtime partner (and father of her children) Gerard Piqué.

Since the breakup, Shakira has been on a roll, debuting one fiery track after the other. The first of the bunch, “Monotonía,” is about the heartbreaking end of a relationship due to monotony. The second, “BZRP Music Sessions #53,” with Argentine hitmaker Bizarrap, is about being betrayed by a partner who left her for someone less intimidating. The third, “TQG,” with Karol G, is about coming back to life and regaining her power after a heartbreak, only to learn that her cheating ex wants her back.
