Shake Shack Is Giving Away Free Burgers This Week
Get 'em while you can!
The biggest night in Hollywood has come and gone, when our favorite celebrities take to the Dolby Theatre for the Academy Awards. And while many A-listers hit up In-N-Out after the Oscars, that’s not the only fast food burger joint in the spotlight this week.
So, don’t worry; even if you live East of the Mississippi River with no In-N-Out (at least, for now), you can still get excited about burgers. That’s because Shake Shack is giving away free burgers to honor the Oscars all week long.
How To Get Free Burgers at Shake Shack This Week
You might have thought that after Super Bowl LVIII ended, your over/under bets would, too. However, over/unders don’t have to stop at Reba McEntire’s National Anthem length, yard amounts, or how many times Taylor Swift will be featured on TV. There’s an over/under for the Academy Awards’ length, too.
Award shows are notorious for their long runtimes, so this year, Shake Shack decided to reward you for sitting through hours of speeches and unforeseen, awkward TV moments by giving away free sandwiches the week after the show.
The over/under for this year’s Oscars runtime is three hours and 31 minutes, according to Shake Shack. So, f the show ran longer than three hours and 31 minutes, Shake Shack was planning to give out free Chicken Shack sandwiches. But since the show was shorter than three hours and 31 minutes, the restaurant will offer free SmokeShack burgers, instead.
The official run time of the Oscars clocked in at 3 hours and 23 minutes, meaning this week you can get a SmokeShack cheeseburger with bacon, cherry peppers, and ShakeSauce for free.
Starting Monday, March 11 through March 18, any guest who places at least a $10 order at a Shake Shack kiosk, on shakeshack.com, or in the Shack App can score their free burger by entering code “BIGWINS” at checkout.
"We love to tap into cultural moments in unexpected ways, and what bigger moment to do so than Hollywood’s biggest night?” Mike McGarry, Shake Shack’s vice president of brand marketing, told Marketing Daily. “We know that sometimes it can be a long show with even longer speeches, and we wanted to give Shack fans something to root and be rewarded for, no matter when the curtain finally falls."
