Shades of Green Dresses Are Trending on the NAACP Awards 2024 Red Carpet With Hailey Bailey, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kerry Washington and More

Stars including Halle Bailey, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Kerry Washington brought shades of green to the red carpet at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Emerald, chartreuse and olive tones were trending at New York Fashion Week fall 2024 according to Pantone. Last month, the company revealed its Fashion Color Trend Report, listing leafy hues like Fern, Aventurine and Golden Palm as three of its most popular colors favored by designers.

Ahead, see how celebrities channeled the trend at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards.

Halle Bailey

Bailey opted for a strapless emerald green gown from Nicole + Felicia Couture, which featured rosette details and a mermaid silhouette. The “Grown-ish” star accessorized with diamond drop earrings and rings. The singer and actress was styled by Nichole Goodman, who has worked with Bailey since 2022. Goodman has also curated looks for Bailey’s mentor, Beyoncé.

Sheryl Lee Ralph

Ralph’s one-shoulder Georges Hobeika gown, which featured a flowing chiffon cape and gradient sequins, came from the label’s fall 2023 collection. The “Abbott Elementary” star accessorized with W.Salamoon earrings and gold Saint Laurent Tribute platforms. Stylist Ivy Coco Maurice dressed Ralph for the occasion.

Kerry Washington

Washington wore a corseted Vivienne Westwood gown complete with reflective fabric and a floor-length train. The actress added on gold, diamond and emerald jewels by Bulgari, completing her look with D’Accori heels. Washington was styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, the duo known for dressing Jennifer Lopez, Lily Collins and Hailee Steinfeld.

Ralph’s “Abbott Elementary” costar Lisa Ann Walter sported an off-the-shoulder forest green Christian Siriano gown covered with sequins, adding on a large cocktail ring and chandelier earrings.

The 2024 NAACP Image Awards honor the accomplishments of Black creatives in film, television and music. Queen Latifah served as emcee for the ceremony after hosting for the first time in 2023. Winners were announced prior to the show’s air date. This year’s honorees include Usher, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion and Ciara.
