Sex and the City's John Corbett marries Hollywood star Bo Derek after 20 years together

Sex and the City's John Corbett has announced that he's married his partner of 20 years, Hollywood star Bo Derek.

John, who played Aidan Shaw in HBO's Sarah Jessica Parker series – shared the news on CBS show The Talk to friend and host Jerry O'Connell. Revealing it was the 'first time either one of us has said anything publicly about it', the actor confirmed: 'Jerry, I can't believe that I forgot to tell you that around Christmastime we got married. Bo and I got married!

'And this is probably the first time, you know, we're pretty private people. We didn't make an announcement. All our friends and family knew.'

The 60-year-old star explained that he and Bo wanted to put a positive spin on 2020 following the Covid outbreak, adding: 'After 20 years, we decided to get married. We didn't want 2020 to be that thing that everybody looks back at and hated. And we thought, let's get one nice thing out of it.'

John previously said that neither he or Bo, who is best known for her role in Dudley Moore comedy 10, had any plans to marry. The couple have been together since 2002.

'It's not really a conscious decision not to,' Derek told Entertainment Tonight. "It's just at our age we're not going to have children: we're not building a new family together that this is important to a family tree. So, for us, it would just be a piece of paper.'

John recently appeared in Netflix's To All the Boys film series, and will be reprising his role as Carrie's ex-boyfriend Aidan Shaw in the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That.
