Sewing Bee's Esme Young and Patrick Grant shared this fabric advice
We're loving seeing Sewing Bee back on our screens – and if you're thinking about getting into sewing, judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant have a very important piece of advice for you.
In a video shared on the Sewing Bee Instagram page, the judges speak to the camera as if it's a contestant on the show – and give one crucial piece of advice for when it comes to picking fabric.
In the video, Esme asks: "What are you going to sew for us today?" Patrick then follows up by saying "Have you ever sewn with that type of fabric before?"
Esme says: "It can be very tricky. I will give you one sentence of advice: test it first".
Fans were quick to share how useful they found Esme's advice, with @tararebeka commenting "I’m saving this for each time I start a new project." and @swetrowna commenting "I'm saving it and I'm gonna play every time I sit down to sew".
Patrick and Esme have been sharing pearls of wisdom with contestants throughout the series, and recently revealed their favourite makes from the last ten series of the show.
We can't wait to see how the sewers get on tonight, as they fight for a place in the semi final. In a change of schedule due to the Euros football match, this week's Sewing Bee is airing tonight (Wednesday) rather than last night (Tuesday).
Last week was Lingerie Week, and Pascha's Made to Measure Challenge bustier dress won her Garment of the Week. Sadly, Marcus's efforts weren't quite enough, and he was the latest sewer to be sent home from the competition.
