Serena Williams Shares Her Hidden Talent with Daughter Olympia as the Pair Spend Quality Time Together

Many know Serena Williams as a tennis legend, but the athlete also has another talent.

On Sunday, March 9, the athlete, 43, shared a video of her and her daughter Alexis Olympia, 6, who goes by Olympia, spending some quality time together in the kitchen. In the video, Williams, who welcomed her daughter with husband Alexis Ohanian, 41, in September 2017, was showing her daughter how to cook gumbo.

"Bet you didn’t know I love cooking," she wrote in the caption of the adorable video. "Here is me teaching @olympiaohanian my gumbo recipe."

Williams' daughter always seems to be right by her side, whether it's in the kitchen or during practices for the world's biggest stages.

On Sunday, Feb. 9, the tennis player made a surprise appearance on stage at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans as part of Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance. Williams showcased her crip-walking skills as she recreated the energetic dance to Lamar's smash hit "Not Like Us."

With her appearance no longer a secret, the athlete shared behind-the-scenes pictures of her and her daughter as she practiced for her moment at the 2025 Super Bowl on Instagram. The gallery showed both Williams and Olympia in different positions at practice, including one where her daughter stood behind her as she practiced crip-walking and another of Olympia playing with Williams' hair during a break.

In the photos, Williams is wearing the bottom half of her Super Bowl outfit, a blue skirt and blue high-top Converse sneakers, with a black top and her daughter is dressed in black-and-white printed pants with a white graphic T-shirt.

"Rehearsals anyone?" the mom of two captioned her post.

Williams and her husband, who wed in November 2017, are also the proud parents to Adira River Ohanian, who they welcomed five years after their daughter Olympia in August 2023.

In an April 2024 interview with Byrdie, Williams, who stepped away from tennis in September 2022, was asked what brings her the most happiness in life, and she answered "my kids," admitting, "I can't say that a Wimbledon trophy holds a candle to volunteering at my kid's school."

"I also hope my daughters see how many different passions I have — from tennis to beauty — and learn that they can lead dynamic careers and lives across their many interests," she said.
"I've been so focused on my career my whole life, but when I had a family and got married, I realized that there's so much more to life. And that was great."
