Serena Williams just welcomed her second baby
Serena Williams has welcomed her second baby into the world. The tennis star took to TikTok yesterday to make the exciting announcement via a sweet video featuring herself, husband Alexis Ohanian and the couple's first child, daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
The minute-long clip sees the family gathered together for a moment before Serena exits the frame and returns with her new bundle of joy. It then ends with a number of Polaroids of the family's special moment – and we couldn't be happier for them.
“Welcome my beautiful angel,” Serena captioned the touching tribute, which was set to the song “Beautiful” by Bazzi.
Separately, Alexis made his own announcement on Instagram, which revealed the baby's name: Adira River Ohanian. “I'm grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you've now given me another incomparable gift—you're the GMOAT,” gushed the Reddit co-founder.
Lastly, an adorable photo appeared on the Instagram that Alexis Olympia's parents have already set up for her, captioned: "My sister and me 🎶🎤🎸". Needless to say, Olympia looks overjoyed to have a little sister.
Earlier this month, Serena and Alexis revealed their baby's sex via a drone display that spelled out "GIRL" at their home, alongside friends and family.
In the YouTube video that the athlete posted of the gender reveal, she expressed that she was really hoping for a girl and that she was, “a little nervous because I don't have any contingency plan if it turns out to be a boy.” Consider her wish granted!
Oh and let's not forget the way the husband-and-wife duo made their most recent pregnancy announcement back in May 2023: at the Met Gala, of course. While on the red carpet at the lavish fundraiser, Serena told the Vogue livestream, “There’s three of us here,” which was a sweet nod to the couple’s newest addition.
