The September issues: Who has scored the year's most coveted fashion magazine covers?

When it comes to fashion magazines, the September issue is always the year’s most coveted one. It’s full of the new season’s top trends to try at home and the annual issue that most people are likely to keep. As a result, it tends to be packed with advertising – making it one thick mag to get through.

As a celebrity, scoring the September cover is a big win. It secures your status as an A-lister, leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind as to your relevance.

So, who made the cut this year?

Vogue made a big splash with not one, but four September covers. Each starring one of the world’s hottest actresses: Jennifer Lawrence. Across the pond in the UK, Alexandra Shulman ensured her final British Vogue issue was just as compelling with not one, but five top models on the cover.

Selena Gomez, who has tried her hand at fashion design with her first bag for Coach, scored InStyle while Kirsten Dunst looked lovely in polka dots on the cover of Nylon. And there was a superstar sandwich on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar with Adriana Lima and Irina Shayk as the bread and The Weeknd as the filling.

Katy Perry was barely recognisable on the cover of W in a futuristic get-up and Angelina Jolie struck a pose as a strong, single lady on the cover of Vanity Fair. The Hadid sisters may not have scored US or UK Vogue, but the duo made sure they got their fashion bible moments on the covers of Vogue Korea and China.

Without further ado, next month’s must-buy mags.
