Here Are the Semi-Finalists for the 2024 LVMH Prize
On Friday, the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers announced its shortlist for its 2024 contest, narrowing down the record-breaking pool of more than 2,500 applicants to 20 semi-finalists.
Now in its 11th edition, the LVMH Prize is recognizing talent from 18 countries, including designers from Mexico, Moldova and Togo for the first time. (Go, Jacques Agbobly!) The semi-finalists will present their collections in Paris on Feb. 29 and March 1; the contest will also be held digitally on its website for the public to participate. The LVMH Prize Committee of Experts, which includes more than 85 international fashion specialists, will then select the eight finalists; the winner will be awarded a €400,000 endowment along with a one-year custom mentorship. (Last year, Satoshi Kuwata of Setchu won.)
"Once more this year, I'm delighted to welcome so many talented young designers, and I'd like to express my warmest gratitude to all the designers from all over the world who took part," Delphine Arnault said in a statement. "This year's edition is remarkable for the unique distinctive designs and for the return of sophisticated womenswear collections."
Among the 2024 contenders are Agbobly, Elena Velez, Duran Lantink, Karoline Vitto, Michael Stewart of Standing Ground, Everard Best and Tela D’Amore Best of Who Decides War. See all of the 2024 LVMH Prize semi-finalists below.
