Selena Gomez engaged as she shows off incredible ring announcing 'forever begins now'
Selena Gomez is officially engaged after boyfriend of one year Benny Blanco popped the question. The 32 year old singer and actress took to Instagram to share the joyous news with a series of sweet pictures on Thursday (12 December).
Selena - who beamed from ear to ear - shared snaps of her stunning engagement ring and some moments from their proposal picnic. One picture showed Benny planting a kiss on his fiancé as she giggled. The pictures were alongside a caption that read: "forever begins now.." Benny playfully responded in the comments as he wrote: "hey wait... that’s my wife."

Selena also gave a closer look at her ring with another picture on Instagram Stories, where she showed off the massive oval-cut sparkler. A second Story showed her revealing the news to a friend via video call, with the friend screaming as Selena held up her hand to the camera. "It's so pretty," giggled Selena as she showed off the ring to her friend, who responded, "It's so beautiful".
A number of stars took to Selena's post to congratulate her, including Friends legend Jennifer Aniston who wrote: "HONEY! ! Congratulations sweet mama!" While Lil Nas X said: "OMMGGGGG CONGRATSSS AHHH (sic)". Gwyneth Paltrow wrote "SELENAAAAAAA" while Gordon Ramsay jested: "Congratulations to you both it must be the cooking".
Earlier in the year, Benny hinted at a lifelong commitment on 'The Howard Stern Show', saying: "When I look at her ... I don’t know a world where it could be better than this."
The couple, who first crossed paths in 2019 and began dating four years later, made their relationship Instagram official in December 2023. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Selena revealed that going public was a joint decision that has left her feeling incredibly "safe" and optimistic about their future together.
Admitting that going public was a decision to keep fans in the loop without giving too much away, she said:"When you put a little bit out there, people are not as hungry to hunt you down. Like, if they hear something, they're going to, but if you're like, 'I did it', they're like, 'Oh, well there's you, just going to Sushi Park.'"
"But there's so much of my relationship people don't see - that's just mine."
She revels in the balance which allows her privacy, and when asked about having a private life, Selena replied confidently: "I do, because I hang out with people who aren’t really in the business that much. I mean, I have both."
