Selena Gomez channels Sandy from 'Grease' in leather trousers at Billboard awards

Selena Gomez’s blonde hair really seems to have inspired her.

The 25-year-old singer appeared to channel one of the silver screen’s most iconic blondes at last night’s Billboard Women in Music awards, donning a look that screamed Sandy D.

Of course, Selena didn’t go for the sweet and sappy version played by Olivia Newton-John in the 1978 classic. No, the star opted for the leather-donning sassy Sandy – gold hoops and all.

Taking to the event’s red carpet on Thursday night, Selena was seen wearing a Versace outfit.

The strapless bodysuit costs £970 alone and was paired with slashed leather trousers, black sandals and a gold-buckled leather belt.

Selena picked up the Woman of the Year award at the LA-based event, crying as she thanked her best friend and presenter of the award, Francia Raisa, for donating her kidney to her in the summer.

“I think Francia should be getting this award. She saved my life… I feel incredibly lucky,” the 25-year-old said.

“I want people to know that I respect the platform that I have so deeply because I knew that I wanted to be a part of something great, I wanted people to feel great.”

Other attendees at the star-studded awards included Elle Fanning who stunned in a fringed Versace dress and Ciara wearing a dramatic white Vera Wang gown and leather skirt.
