See how Emma Stone's Golden Globes gown came to life
As the first stop on the awards season calendar, the Golden Globes offers the opportunity for celebrities to start the new year off strong. Whether they leave the evening with a trophy or not, walking the red carpet in a memorable ensemble will help them start the year off with a bang, and a number of stars certainly delivered on this.
One attendee who shone on her arrival at the awards was Kinds of Kindness actress Emma Stone, who attended wearing a custom red silk bustier gown, designed especially for her by Louis Vuitton.
Stone, a face of the brand, has formed a close relationship with the French fashion house when it comes to her red-carpet appearances, with a history of wearing beautifully-crafted, opulent designs from its atelier. Over the past few years, the actress has almost exclusively worn Vuitton for her biggest moments, including on her press tour for Poor Things, where she picked up her second Academy Award.
This time around, her ruby red Golden Globes ensemble consisted of a straight bustier gown constructed out of dark red silk faille, wrapped with a pleated bow belt which sat neatly on the waist. Below, deep darts on the skirt created a voluminous structure around the hips, which was secretly supported by an inside construction underneath the dress.
The breathtaking gown, reminiscent of classic Hollywood glamour with its luxe silken sheen and rich hue, was the result of more than 200 hours of work in Louis Vuitton's atelier. For the evening's awards, Stone paired the look with red satin sandals, and was adorned with sapphire and diamond Vision earrings set in white and yellow gold, coupled with a diamond Optimism ring in white gold from Louis Vuitton's High Jewellery collection.
The actress also unveiled another unexpected delight at the awards: a new pixie cut hairstyle, which framed her face and exhibited her fondness for finding boundless inspiration from across the decades.
