The Ninja Thirsti makes drinking water a little treat, not a chore. The countertop device is roughly the same size as the brand’s Creami (if you know you know), and delivers flavored or unflavored still water, seltzer, and sodas. The device holds a replaceable CO2 canister to provide carbonation. Add ice and water to the reservoir—no need to connect to a water line—and a color-changing sensor will tell you when the perfect temperature has been reached. Then you’re ready to start dispensing ice-cold seltzer with your perfect amount of bubbles, great if you find regular seltzer too “spicy.”
But the fun really starts with the Thirsti drops. Each machine has two places for pods (these include a lid for any opened pods that aren’t in use, so you can have more than two pods on rotation). You can choose between “hint of” seltzer flavors like lime or black cherry, electrolyte-packed juice-y blends like watermelon lime or lemonade, caffeinated blends like peach mango or pear ginger, and diet sodas like cola or root beer.
Mixing between two pods amps up the customization. Use lime and cola if you take your soda with a twist. Mix mango and lemonade: mango lemonade on tap.
You will need to stay on top of refilling the CO2 canisters—once you have two empties, you can swap them for new canisters at a 30 percent discount through Ninja. There are some random bits and bobs you’ll need to save when you’re unboxing to make this exchange, so read the directions thoroughly and store them where you’ll remember later.
