Scotland's best 11 secondary schools 2025 named in new league table - see full list
A Glasgow secondary school has been named the best in Scotland, according to the Sunday Times' annual league table.
Jordanhill School has been recognised as Scotland's State Secondary School of the Year and State Secondary School of the Year for Academic Excellence in the list published on Friday, December 6.
The school has consistently topped the Sunday Times league tables for academic performance in Scotland for the past seven years, reports Glasgow Live.

The west end school is consistently at the top of the charts due to extracurricular activities that over a third of senior pupils at Jordanhill participate in. Activities such as instrument lessons, music ensembles and Saturday mornings sports clubs - football, netball, hockey and rugby - and a before school running club.
The school's rector, John Anderson, feels that this a key part of Jordanhill's consistent success at the top of the Sunday Times' league table since 1993. He strongly believes his school fosters a strong work ethic, and pupils are quick to learn resilience needed to overcome setbacks.
The league table has been running for 32 years, and is ranked on the pupils performances on National 5s and Higher exams. The guide features a searchable national database of more than 2,000 schools that are sorted by name, local authority, town, and postcode.
The Sunday Times' league table shows nine of the top ten state schools in Scotland are in Greater Glasgow.

“As well as celebrating the academic excellence of the top schools it is fantastic to see how they are shaping their students to be ready for the 21st century.”
