‘Saved By the Bell’ Star Tiffani Thiessen Shows Off New Tattoo and Reveals the Incredible Meaning Behind It
As Tiffani Thiessen approaches a new phase in her life, she's using the time to honor a loved one.
In a new post uploaded on Instagram on January 16, the Saved By the Bell actress revealed she and her mother Robyn Ernest decided on a unique way to pay tribute to Tiffani's grandmother. As she added a series of photos of matching butterfly tattoos (done by artist Ignacio Suarez) on their left hands, Tiffani explained the symbol held multiple sentimental meanings for her. Along with her late grandmother adoring the creature, she added how the new ink also represented a restart of sorts as she approaches her 50th birthday on January 23.
"Countdown to 50 continues — I got this stunning new tattoo from @cachotattoo," she wrote in the caption. "It was truly special because I have always had a beautiful bond with my grandmother, and she loved butterflies. My mom and I both dedicated these tattoos to her. She believed that butterflies symbolize transformation and rebirth and that after she left the human world, she would continue to show us she was with us in this form. 🦋 It also seems fitting as I feel a new sense of transformation as I’m about to turn 50."
After fans saw the White Collar alum's new ink, they took to the comments to rally behind her sentimental decision.
"So beautiful and touching! Happy almost birthday mama!" one person wrote on Instagram. "I love that!! It’s beautiful ❤️🙌," another agreed. "I love this so much! The butterfly is my the symbol I have for my daughter. I totally agree with your grandmother. 🦋," a different follower added.
In November 2022, Tiffani and Robyn both showed off heart symbols that were also tattooed by Ignacio.
"❤️❤️ A memorable day with my sweet mom," she wrote at the time on Instagram. "Thank you @cachotattoo for giving us this special gift."
