'I saved £150 making Christmas charcuterie board – it's easy and you can too'
An easy Christmas charcuterie board has amazed online foodies.
Nicole, a food and wellness TikTok creator, made a video to show her Christmas Day 'picky bits' idea which has everything you need for a classic charcuterie board - meats, cheeses, nuts and fruits. She even went as far as shaping the meat in roses.
A charcuterie board is of French origin and is typically served as an appetiser on a wooden board or stone slab, often eaten straight from the board. Nicole gave hers a festive twist, which people have branded as 'amazing' and 'professional.

In a video posted online, she shows how she organised her huge spread starting off by putting crackers, cheese twists and breadsticks on the table followed by different cheeses, fruits like grapes and strawberries to add some colour, slices of meat, an assortment of dips, nuts, olives and lots of fresh bread like focaccia.
Nicole starts her video by saying: “If you’re looking for the perfect Christmas Day picky bits idea or (for) Christmas Eve, Boxing Day or New Year’s then I’ve got the one for you. I threw this together last year when I had friends over and it’s got big wow factor and it’s super simple.”
Foodies in the comment section of the video agreed that the spread has the ‘wow’ factor. One said: “Wow biggest charcuterie board I’ve seen…amazing” while another added: “You should definitely do this for a job! It looks amazing!”
Another TikTok user commented: “It’s like a work of art, that is wow” and another claimed: “If you paid someone to do that for half the size of what you have done it would cost about £250+. This looks fantastic, well done! It looks so delicious and professional.”
One person asked Nicole how much it cost and where she bought the products from. She said that most of them were from Aldi or Tesco. She spent about £75 altogether, which is more than £150 less than some professionals would charge.
Some foodies who saw the video had concerns about the food going stale as it includes products like bread and crackers. In response, Nicole said she puts the board out just before her guests arrive and it “lasts 2-3 hours”.
She also said she puts parchment paper down first and attaches it to the table before putting any food on top. The TikTok video has received 317,000 views and more than 4,000 likes. If you’re looking for some new recipes to impress your guests this festive season, Nicole's charcuterie board idea is likely to be a winner.
