Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that she has brought Carrie Bradshaw's adorable kitten home with her.

In the Sex and the City follow-up series, And Just Like That, Carrie acquires the kitten after Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez) adopts him from a veterinary surgery, naming him Shoe after she took him to live at her apartment.

Posting a series of cute Instagram snaps, the actress revealed that the kitten's real name is actually Lotus, and that she'd adopted him in real life back in April.

"His off-camera name is Lotus. He and his siblings were all given botanical names when they were rescued as newborns by the @cthumanesociety," she wrote, adding that she had adopted him from the Connecticut Humane Society with her husband Matthew Broderick.

"Adopted officially by the Parker/Broderick family in April 2023. He joins Rémy and Smila whom we adopted in May 2022. If he looks familiar, that's because he is."

The adorable photos showed Lotus settling into his new home, meeting SJP's other cats and being held in the air and kissed by the actress.

Fellow SATC star Kristin Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer and The Mandalorian's Amy Sedaris were among the celebrities sharing their joy in the comments, with the latter writing: "A little scene stealer is what that is!!".

And Just Like That fans were also delighted to see the star caring for the kitten in real-life. "And just like cat," one person joked, while another added: "I knew he was your real cat. You can't fake that bond."

Lotus may be back on our screens in the not-too-distant future as And Just Like That has been renewed for a third season following its finale, which saw Kim Cattrall make her long awaited return as Samantha Jones.

SJP recently touched on Cattrall's cameo appearance, revealing that she "couldn't have been more upset" to learn the news had leaked prior to the episode's premiere.

We're already excited for season three, hopefully featuring more kittens...
