Sarah Ferguson penned a personal tribute to the important women in her life, highlighting the late Queen Elizabeth as having been a mother figure to her.

In a post on her personal Instagram account, Sarah shared a selection of photographs of women who are important to her and included a special message honouring those featured, to mark Women's History Month.

She wrote, "I want to thank & remember a few of the women I admire deeply, all of whom have had such a special influence on my life."

Sarah included an image of The Queen smiling in a pale pink hat and ensemble, singling her out in the message by saying, "Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth, who was a mother to me."

Sarah also mentioned a list of women she considers to be her sisters, including "Diana", which would appear to refer to Princess Diana, as Sarah featured a black and white photograph of the pair of them together in their younger years.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were also name-checked in the list, as Sarah spotlighted her "magnificent daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie."

Sarah Ferguson finished the post by writing, "The women who have made up so much of the joy in my life are simply remarkable... and I thought it only right to take a moment for them. I feel unbelievably blessed to have shared mentorship, friendship, sisterhood, and motherhood with these women."

Princess Eugenie also honoured her mum and sister in a recent post to mark International Women's Day, sharing snaps of herself alongside Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice on a trip together.
