Sarah Ferguson Gives Health Update After Revealing Skin Cancer Diagnosis
A few days ago, Sarah Ferguson announced she has been diagnosed with malignant melanoma skin cancer.
"Following her diagnosis with an early form of breast cancer this summer, Sarah, Duchess of York has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma," her spokesman told T&C. "Her dermatologist asked that several moles were removed and analyzed at the same time as the Duchess was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy, and one of these has been identified as cancerous. She is undergoing further investigations to ensure that this has been caught in the early stages. Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing but the Duchess remains in good spirits."
After recuperating at Mayrlife, a luxury wellness clinic, in Austria, the Duchess of York has returned to England. Today, she was pictured leaving King Edward VII hospital in London, smiling and speaking with well-wishers. "I'm fine, thank you," she reportedly shared. (The Duchess is being treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital and King Edward VII Hospital, where royals have gone for surgeries in the past.)
After her diagnosis was shared publicly, Ferugson wrote on Instagram, "Naturally another cancer diagnosis has been a shock but I’m in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support."
Her health news comes amidst more royal health scares, as Kate Middleton is currently in the hospital following planned abdominal surgery and King Charles is set to undergo a treatment for a benign prostate this week.
