Samantha Giles has eased her sciatica pain with a few days of "intensive stretching".

The 'Emmerdale' star admitted over the weekend she had been struggling with some "awful" pain, caused by an irritated nerve, but she has recovered thanks to some yoga stretching.

She wrote on Twitter: "The good news is after intensive stretching a few times a day plus swimming my sciatic pain is no longer! Phew!! I highly recommend Yoga stretching. (sic)"

Sam, 50, couldn't touch her toes over the weekend because she was too sore.

She wrote at the time: "Sciatica down the back of my right thigh it’s awful!! Can’t even touch my toes it’s so painful. Hopefully after some stretches and yoga it will go!! (sic)"

The 'Emmerdale' star - who plays Bernice Blackstock in the ITV soap - admitted she was going to try a yoga move called pigeon in an attempt at relieving her pain.

A fan suggested the move on social media, but another of Sam's followers said she wouldn't be able to take up the position because she didn't have a table.

But the soap star replied: "You can do it on the floor. It’s a yoga move called pigeon x (sic)"

Last year, Sam - who practices Wicca, a form of witchcraft - credited a pagan love spell with bringing her husband, Sean Pritchard, into her life.

She said at the time: "I practice pagan witchcraft, which isn't as bonkers as it sounds.

"I wrote down exactly what I was after and used candles and crystals to do the magic. A few months later exactly what I'd written appeared. As if by magic!"
