Salma Hayek Uses This Unexpected Beauty Product To Cover Grey Roots
If you’re looking to conceal stray greys in a pinch... actor Salma Hayek has you covered.
The 57-year-old actress showed her IG followers what she uses to keep her hair dark between dyes, and honestly... it’s pretty brilliant!
Salma posted an IG reel showing her getting glammed up and noticed a few grey hairs around her temples. The House of Gucci star had a quick fix for her followers.
'So what is the secret? How can you cover it sometimes without having to dye it?' asks Salma mid-glam. 'When I'm on my own, I just put mascara on. You clean it really well and then just go like this,' she says, showing how she would brush the mascara through her strands. 'And all the rebellious little ones that stick up not only go black, but they stay flat.'
Salma appears to be gesturing with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes mascara in the video.
'We don’t gatekeep hair tips here 😉' Salma captioned the video.
If you opt for this hack, make sure not to apply heat to the hair afterward, Salma’s hairstylist Miguel Martin Perez said in an interview with Allure.
'This could melt the mascara and end in a hair colour disaster,' he told Allure. Perez also suggests washing the mascara out of your hair before bed.
Perez had another gray-hiding trick for Salma and her followers: the L'Oréal Professionnel Hair Touch Up spray. Perez takes a comb to section out Salma’s hair before spraying over any white hairs, instantly turning them black.
'It's like putting make-up to the hair,' Salma shares. 'See, I don't have to be doing it every three weeks!'
