Salma Hayek has graced countless magazine covers over the course of her career, but for this month's cover of Vogue Mexico she shared the glossy cover with one very special person in particular: her daughter.

The actress, 55, and her 14-year-old daughter pose side-by-side for the May 2022 issue of Vogue Mexico and Latin America, showing their gorgeous shared genetics.

It’s her first-ever Vogue cover at the tender age of 14 for Hayek's daughter Valentina Pinault – whom she shares with her husband of 13 years, Kering CEO and President, François-Henri Pinault.

In the interview by Irena Azuela, which was conducted in Spanish, the actress opened up about becoming a mother “later in life”, after she had her daughter at in her 40s, saying that she was “proud” of her accomplishments and felt that she had already “done many things” in her life by that point.

In fact, when she first had Valentina, Hayek was willing to give up acting altogether, but went back to work after her husband persuaded her.

“It allows me to unleash my creativity, and because I am an artist,” she added. “If you love your profession and you carry it out, then you have all the success in the world: you have already won.”

Valentina wants to follow her mother’s footsteps by getting into Hollywood, first as an actress and then as a director, she says. “I want different things, but I almost always move between four. I'd like to be an actress and then a director because that's what makes sense in my head.”

For the Vogue Mexico and Latin America cover shoot, photographed by Nico Bustos and styled by Vale Collado, the mother and daughter duo don designer clothes whilst Valentina admits to raiding her mother's wardrobe from time to time, though she insisted she’s often wearing sweatpants.

“We fight over clothes because she takes everything from my closet,” Hayek told Irena Azuela. “Since she was little she never let me choose her clothes, and I always liked that.”

But there’s one thing the teenager can teach her famous mother: [And] she's very good with makeup. I'm good at makeup, but now she teaches me,” added Hayek.
