Is anyone else's timeline just stuffed full of Deadpool v Wolverine right now? From digging into whether there's a post-credits scene, to unpacking the mega cameos - including Blake Lively as Lady Deadpool. But how did her character actually come to life?

Way back when Marvel dropped a trailer for the new movie, rumours started to swirl that Lady Deadpool was going to be played by It Ends With Us's Blake Lively.

Now, officially in the movie, the actress is never actually revealed as Lady Deadpool in the film - as in, we never actually see her face - but Ryan's wife in real life does voice the character, and is included in the credits.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Blake explained how she had met Ryan while filming Green Lantern in 2011, when he and artist Rob Liefeld were already super passionate about the character. "Just before all this in 2010, @robliefeld drew an unmasked Lady Deadpool for the first time, go to the next slide for his words," she wrote. "@deadpoolmovie wasn’t real. And Rob had no idea I was working with @vancityreynolds. 12 years later I read Rob’s post. A year after that, @deadpoolmovie 3 was filmed. The universe has such a magical sense of humour sometimes."

Now, Ryan has explained how his wife brought the character to life, speaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast (via Digital Spy). "Yeah, it was kind of one of those things where you're like, 'Well, why not?' I mean, go for it, of course. I mean, we're all there together anyway. Let's go nuts.

"Yeah, it was a lot of fun. Yeah, she did love it. And she's one of the funniest people I know."

Do people still say 'couple goals'?!
